L.A.V.A.H: Land of the Free Spirits (Rapper on the Rise)

Updated: Mar 11, 2023

I, believe you should live life doing what you love. And I enjoy being an artist in general not just a rapper! L.A.V.A.H

It’s been some time since my last blog. Ya’ll know I never stay gone for long with that in mind, My latest blog features an upcoming rapper from South Jersey. His style is edgy, versatile, and in your face. L.A.V.A.H stands for Live Artist visual and hard working. Growing up LAVAH, went through a lot. So as a way of coping, he would write music every day to get through the day.

He started rapping when he was 9. He started writing songs when he was 14. He has a variety of influences from AZ, 2 Pac, Jay-z, DMX, Jadakiss, Notorious B.I.G, Redman, Beanie Siegal, Nas, Styles P and Big Pun. He writes music to escape the outside world that treated him badly but that didn’t stop him from being confident in himself.

I had the opportunity to interview L.A.V.A.H Live via Instagram as well as ask him some questions regarding his work and his overall artistry. To see a snippet of the interview be sure to follow either myself @candismariewrites on IG and follow L.A.V.A.H for the whole interview @lavah7.

In the mean time, enjoy the interview and be sure to support this raw, talented, rapper. As part of the conversation. we discussed his mixtape Path to greatness and how he channeled a mix of R&B and Hip Hop. On that album he expressed his versatility in a kind of subtle way.

LAVAH stressed to me the importance of sound and lyrical content and on his current project Land of the Free Spirts he puts me in the mind of 2 Pac telling stories of others but being able to convey them as if he personally experienced it. As you all have learned by now I am picky about who I endorse musically but I see great things from LAVAH. Be sure to follow him on social media and look out for his video Pocahontas dropping May 15, 2021. Land of the Free Spirits is out on all streaming platforms.

CJMUSICXXBLOG: Can you describe your creative process. How do you write your songs?

LAVAH: Well first I think of the title then I think of a visual and creative way to the viewers. I always want to make sure the melodies or how I say something gets stuck in everyone’s head.

CJMUSICXXBLOG: Tell me about your Land of the Free Spirits project. (How it came about).

LAVAH: Well I seen a lot of people dealing with schizophrenia so I wanted to play the narrator and go inside the mind of someone who is dealing with this . I feel like it’s something that is not talked about enough.

CJMUSICXXBLOG: What makes you stand out from other rappers?

LAVAH: Because I grew up being albino I can tap into pain from a whole different perspective plus the unique way that I fit in pockets on song and how I choose my beats.

CJMUSICXXBLOG Do you have any dream collaborations?

LAVAH: Well, It was DMX, RIP! also, Nas, Erykah Badu, SZA, & Kendrick; the list goes on.

CJMUSICXXBLOG: How would you influence other rappers trying to get into the industry?

LAVAH: I would tell them to do what works best for you if signing a deal with a label is what you really want go for it if bein independent is what you want then go for it. Just make sure you give it your all!

CJMUSICXXBLOG: Where can listeners find your music?

LAVAH: you can find it on all platforms. Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, and even TIK TOK.
