Music has a way of turning any situation around. Good bad or indifferent it is a universal language that people all around the world can relate to even if there are differences between the people who hear the same song. It is the music that connects them. Nowadays, there is so much happening where music is concerned it’s hard to keep up
However, I get the privilege of talking to underground artists who are determined to do music their way, therefore, creating a lane that only they’ll drive in. The last time I caught up with indie rapper L.A.V.A.H he was charting his indie road map to success while standing on the shoulders of rappers like DMX whom he idolized; the great thing about time is if used wisely growth happens.
When I first heard his music, I felt like I teleported to a socially conscious ’90s house party. Recently, I was asked to interview him to discuss his latest single Lost Souls. My first thoughts were the energy of this song is so fitting for right now for many reasons. Naturally, I started thinking of the kinds of questions I needed to ask.
The most obvious was the was what had been the inspiration behind this song. To which the reply was “I got inspired by my friend that died a few years ago, so it was my tribute to him and all the close family members I lost.” On that note, we also discussed when his album will be released and of course what’s next for this lyricist. Read the rest below or join us live later via my Instagram @Candiimariemedia for a one-on-one in-person chat. Whichever you decide to do please enjoy it and be sure to tell some friends.
